Book Review
From Last to First: A Parent’s Guide to Fencing Success
by Jon Salfield and Daniela Norris
This is an informative and space-efficient work by a judicio;us fencing parent whose child has fenced in France, England, and Canada, assisted by her son’s English coach. It lays out the athlete’s developmental path from the parent’s perspective, but with significant input from the coach, and explains how and why that connection is essential to developing the fencer.
The CBA coaching staff feels blessed that our parents all have healthy attitudes toward their children’s fencing: appropriate positive, supportive and helpful. This recommendation is intended as positive reinforcement for our athlete-coach-parent team spirit!
Did You Know . . . ?
That Coach Anna and Coach Paul share a birthday? We didn’t know, either, until last week!
