DRESS CODE

INFO SESSION/BEGINNER'S CLASS

ALL CBA FENCERS ARE REQUIRED TO WEAR FULL LENGTH LEG COVERINGS
AND CLOSED-TOE EXERCISE SHOES.

Bring a refillable water bottle!

BASIC EQUIPMENT

CBA has a limited amount of basic equipment available to borrow during classtime, including fencing masks, basic gloves and synthetic longswords.

Access to club HEMA loaner equipment is included in all membership tiers.

Students are encouraged to purchase their own fencing mask and gloves early on in their fencing journey; higher-level equipment will be required as you progress in skills and fencing intensity.

LEVELING UP

Students are assessed by coaches on an individual basis;

Once you have mastered the basic skills and completed the Beginner's test,
you may attend the full suite of HEMA classes offered by CBA.

Intermediate level classes and up require a higher level of gear,
especially (but not limited to) a HEMA-specific fencing jacket.

Please note that beginner, intermediate, and advanced HEMA classes all contain conditioning as an element of the class. Strength and physical fitness is a necessary skill for maintaining relaxation and control in challenging situations.
