The Bocholt camp wrapped up on Saturday, leaving our CBA fencers tired but significantly more experienced epee fencers.  Our fencers learned so much every day that I feared each night that their heads would explode. They also set the standard for professional conduct and training diligence among the campers.  They made friends among the other coaches and they made an incredibly impression on the other coaches. I received numerous compliments about their physical abilities, their technique, and their positive attitudes.  The other coaches were astonished that the Flicksters had only been fencing epee for two months, and by Hannah’s improvement since last year, Katia’s rapid progress, and Wilson being Wilson. They made me proud every day as a CBA coach, a Minnesotan, and an American in Europe at a fraught time. Congratulations to all!

Next year’s tentative camp schedule for Bocholt is August 16-22.  Basel will be either July 27 – August 2 or August 2-9.
