"My girls have loved coming here. It's a fun, inclusive, and smart place to develop great skills in a lifetime sport. Start with a camp or class; they'll love it."

Summer Fencing Camps 2020
General Information:
Camps are offered at the Center for Blade Arts facilities for students age 8 to 18. Camps are one week and run 10am - 2pm, with a break for lunch around noon (food is not provided). Fencers are paired up with students closest to their own age for the camps. Intermediate and Advanced camps are separated by weapon.
Beginner Camps, Olympic Fencing
We provide all equipment needed to fence in these camps, and these half-day sessions are designed to turn new fencers into experienced ones. Due to the concentrated nature of these camps, we have been extremely successful in quickly developing fencers.
We cover:
All new fencers are fencing by the end of the first day. Fun games are used to teach strategy and awareness.
Intermediate Camp This camp is for fencers who have attended at least one Beginner Camp with us. It reviews the concepts previously taught, and goes more in-depth on fencing concepts and technique. Situational competitive exercises and bouting are emphasized after the conceptual, perceptual and technical exercises are completed. Strategy and awareness skills are a part of all practices, and transfer well to other sports, along with increased body awareness - but most of all, the camp is fun!
Advanced Camp The camp consists of intensive training sessions with individual attention to how each fencer should direct their own development. This is the only time during the year when such an in-depth, comprehensive analysis is given on the topic of strategy and tactics. The camp is fun, and provides a great learning experience for competition fencers.
Required
Participants are required to wear dry sneakers, t-shirts, and long sweatpants or leggings.
Shorts and jeans are not allowed. All fencing equipment is provided.
Early drop-off and late pick-up is available for an additional fee. Please email us if you would like to add this option or if you have further questions.
