Birthday Parties & Adult Events
Birthday Parties
Birthday parties at the Center for Blade Arts are designed to be fun while introducing students to fencing. The session goes for an hour plus time to put on equipment. The only things a kid needs to bring are sneakers, t-shirts, long athletic pants or leggings, and a signed insurance form (parents/guardians can also sign for their kids onsite). After fencing, we have a room that can be used for celebrating. There are two pizza places within half a block; cake, cupcakes and baked goods at Turtle Bread; and a homemade ice cream shop right upstairs. Please contact us by e-mail for questions and scheduling. Our preference is usually Saturday afternoons at 2:00pm, but other days and times are possible upon request. A popular party favor are these foam swords on Amazon.
Adult Parties
We also offer events for adults at our facilities. Whether it's just for an evening out, an office event or a bachelor/ette party, fencing events are a great way to connect. We teach the basics so you can fence against one another and have a great time learning a new skill. We provide all the necessary fencing equipment. You should wear athletic attire (sneakers, t-shirt, and long athletic pants or leggings). We can set up the fencing activities in Olympic fencing or HEMA. Daytime, evening and weekend openings available. Contact us by e-mail to get started. Town Hall Tap is a popular post-event destination, and is just a half-block down the street.
Special Events
Occasionally we are requested to demonstrate and teach at business meetings and other special events. This is possible, but we set it up with a coach who must bring equipment to your facilities. The costs vary and is quite a bit more expensive than having the event at our facilities due to travel time and the amount of equipment needed to transport. Contact us by e-mail to get started.
Costs
The basic event cost is $159 for one hour or $299 for two hours. Additional participants beyond 10 costs $15 and $29 respectively.
Deposit for Party/Event
Parties are first come, first serve. To reserve your event, the initial $159 or $299 must be paid in advance. Any fees for additional fencers can be paid day-of. An invoice will be sent once a date has been confirmed via e-mail.
Other Info
Maximum number of participants should be kept to about 20.
Minimum number of participants is 2.
Age minimum is 6. There is no age maximum.
