An opportunity for HEMA enthusiasts to enjoy a weekend seminar on Liechtenaur's longsword system, focused on the five words with James Reilly, Principle Instructor of the Wisconsin Historical Fencing Association, Kenosha-Racine. This active event is open to 30 registrants, with a link below or same day registration if any seats remain available.
Instruction starts on Saturday from 1:30 to 4:30 pm and from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm on Sunday. Attendees should bring longsword gear; if you do not own gear, we will attempt to provide gear on a first come, first serve basis.
About James Reilly
We are thrilled to host James Reilly, a favorite in the Midwest and beyond for his HEMA knowledge, enthusiasm, and affability.
James uses the recital of Liechtenauer as the basis for his longsword curriculum in Kenosha-Racine, an he has gained notoriety for his work interpreting Joachim Meyer's text on the Longsword, Quarterstaff, and Rapier.
James is the Founder and President of the Midwest Historical Fencing League, and he has taught private seminars at major historical fencing events across the United States and internationally. He's written numerous articles for online historical fencing publications such as HROARR, and he holds the Fechter rank by the MFFG in longsword, dussack, dagger, and rapier. Finally, he is a free-scholar in the Historical Fencing Affiliates.
